The UT System Board of Regents is expected to approve the University of Texas’ nearly $335 million proposal to help further its efforts to establish a medical school in Austin.

The proposition that covers the first phase through bonds includes constructing and equipping an academic building, research facility, medical office building and a parking garage located on the southern edge of the UT campus, the Austin American-Statesman reports.

Also on the agenda for UT officials: hiring a dean and dozens of faculty members, inking an agreement with the city of Austin to realign Red River Street, and cementing plans with Seton Healthcare Family and Travis County’s health care district to build the $250 million teaching hospital on land owned by UT, according to the Statesman.
